This website was founded and developed by myself, Mark Craigie in January 2009. Over the years I have developed a keen interest in mindfulness and its application to managing stress and mood, and how it may contribute to greater health and well-being. Mindfulness beceame part of my personal and professional development when I began my PhD studies back in 2002. Indeed a large proportion of my PhD was devoted to the investigation of mindfulness training for generalized anxiety disorder using the MBCT program. However, it has become quite apparent to me over the past few years that there was a paucity of web-based information and rescources about mindfulness and its purported benefits that were founded on an understanding of the scientific literature. Moreover, there was limited information on the types of mindfulness programs that were available in Western Australia. This website is in part an attempt to address some of these issues for people living in Western Australia. It is intended that this website will be enhanced and updated over time as new scientific literature and mindfulness programs become available.

At the present moment, a number of pages on this website are still under construction. Over the next few months most pages will be updated and a complete bibliography created. If you wish to contact me, please click on the Contact link above for further information. This website has been developed in association with The Marian Centre, and the website: www.mentalhealthwa.com.

The pages on this site were last updated on the 7/12/10.
