Dr Mark Craigie
Clinical Psychologist
BSc (Hons) First Class, MPsych (Clinical), PhD
Member of the Australian Psychology Society
I began conducting Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) classes in 2003 at Curtin University as part of my PhD research program. I was one of the first practitioners in Australia to conduct MBCT classes following the Segal, Williams, and Teasdale (2002) protocol. The outcome of this research and other research I have conducted has been presented at national and international conferences as well as in peer reviewed psychology journals. More recently, I have been the principal MBCT therapist at The Marian Centre, a private mental health hospital and daypatient facility. I have completed professional training in MBCT, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) with some of the most prominent developers of these forms of therapy in the world. I continue to run MBCT classes for the Marian Centre as well as run my own private practice for adults experiencing difficulties with depression, stress, anxiety and a range of mental health problems. My private practice is registered to provide clinical psychology services under the Medicare Better Access Scheme, and I am registered provider for most major private health insurance funds.
