Professional Training and Peer Supervision in Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness Training in Western Australia
Paul and I provide professional supervision and training in Mindfulness-Baased Therapy. Shown below are a number professional training programs we have developed for suitably qualified mental health professionals. The 2-day Integative workshop was delivered to clinical psychologists and allied mental health workers in Kalgoorlie in February 2011. In 2010 and 2011 we delivered MBCT professional training courses to clinical psychologists and allied mental health professionals. Our workshops are designed to conform to the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) continuing professional development requirements, and include a significant "active" component. Paul and I are also offering small group peer supervision for those individuals wishing to integrate mindfulness into their private clinical practice. Please contact us for more information.

Kind regards,
Mark Craigie and Paul Buttigieg, Directors of Integrated Psychotherapy Solutions.

Pre-Workshop Preparation - Recommended
If you have registered and payed to attend any of our workshops, then please click the link below to go to our pre-workshop preparation page to download pre-workshop readings about mindfulness training. To open this page you will require a username and password (all lowercase) you will have received after registering. To assist with your professional training and mindfulness practice development, it is important before attending the MBCT Foundation Course to purchase some mindfulness practice CDs prior to the workshop. Some of the mindfulness meditation resources we recommend and how to purchase are described below.

Mindfulness Meditation Resources
Prior to attending the MBCT Foundation Course, it is important that you obtain some mindfulness practice CDs to use over the duration of the course. As one option, we recommend that you obtain your own copy of “The Mindful Way Through Depression: Freeing Yourself from Chronic Unhappiness” by Williams, Teasdale, Segal, & Kabat-Zinn (2007). This book can be purchased on-line from most book sellers for about $35. We have also seen copies available at "The Bodhi Tree" Book Cafe on Oxford St in Mt Hawthorn (T: 94449884) for $30. It comes with a MBCT meditation CD by Jon Kabat-Zinn. It is a very good text for someone beginnig to practice mindfulness and contains a wealth of detailed instructions about mindfulness meditation.

Alternatively, you may wish to obtain copies of the official MBCT CDs for your own practice, especially if you intend to conduct MBCT groups or prefer Mark William's style of instruction. They can be purchased by mail from Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre, OBMH NHS Foundation Trust, Warneford Hospital, Headington, OXFORD  OX3 7JX, E-mail: kim.morris-smith@obmh.nhs.uk, Website: www.octc.co.uk. "A set of five CDs used in Oxford’s Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy program by Mark Williams et al.” at a cost of 25 GB pounds per CD set (includes return postage). You will need to obtain a bank cheque in UK pounds and post to the above address. Prices are subject to change. Please check pricing details at the OCTC website or email them before ordering. You will need to purchase these asap as they usually take about 2 weeks to arrive via mail.
